Day 15

August 2, 2018

  • Start: Boyce Shelter
  • End: David Logan Shelter mile 153
  • Total: 21 miles

Today I put another 20+ mile day in the books. It was a beautiful day and I met many beautiful hikers.

An older mother/son duo arrived at the same time I did at the Sucker Brook Shelter. Jay and Meg that I met yesterday were there as well as a group of 3 young women. I felt strong so I pressed on pretty quickly, but not before appreciating such a diverse group of people.

I arrived at the David Logan Shelter just after 7:30 at night. There was just one other woman there when I arrived. She was gregarious and kind. Two others showed up with a sweet dog named Willow. These two had seen me and waved 16 miles earlier at a road crossing. I remembered that.

I was starting to get notifications on my phone that there is a flash flood warning from noon tomorrow to noon on Saturday. That may foil my plans. These blisters can not take much more rain.

I was hoping to do another 20 mile day tomorrow. Then a friend was going to pick me up Saturday for a shower and some laundry.
